Make your way down to the Ezera booth at the show closest to you! ![]() ![]() Good Old EZ-2 With such an immense lineup of boards for the new year it seems that many of these boards get looked beyond. East coast rider, Pete Machotka, does not let the EZ-2 slip by him. Pete used the board throughout the whole contest season and came up with some good results including a couple of first place finishes. Not only did the EZ-2 work for the most challenging of contest conditions but it held its own in bigger surf as well. Pete Machotka venturing far beyond on his EZ-2... ...and bringing home a win. Eric Taylor Assumes the Throne at Quikilver King of the Peak The 13th annual Quiksilver King of the Peak skins event was held at Sebastien Inlet on November 3rd and 4th. The waves were solid and tons of loot was up for grabs. Ezera team rider, Eric Taylor, was thrown into heat one and kicked off the action. It was easy to see in the first heat that Eric was on his game with his fresh EZ-3. As the first day went on, Eric's momentum kept building. At the end of the day, Eric had already collected 7 skins and $1,680. Finally, in the last heat of day 2, Eric beat Philip Goold for the final skin of the contest. Thus, guaranteeing Eric's spot on the throne and also $1,920. For more about Eric, check back at the website and for more about the EZ-3, take a look at select shops in your area. California's Fire Stricken Coast Blessed with Swell As played out as it can be, California was definitely on fire the past week, literally and figuratively. Due to the intense Santa Ana conditions, the wind was howling offshore carrying extreme heat and dryness throughout. Fortunately, a beautiful combo swell followed the arrival of the winds. Surfer's up and down the coast felt the graciousness of nature as perfect A-frames graced even the worst of lineups. Unfortunately, nature showed California that it is just as easy to give as it is to take away. Wildfires began to break out everywhere, leaving families abandoned from the places they called home, many to never return to the same place again. Leaving the public fear-stricken, the fires began making their way towards the coast due to the wind. As most of the community was freaking out, a fortunate handful left everything ashore and paddled out into what is now being said to have been the swell of the year. Smoke inhalation, falling debris, and utter chaos could not keep surfers from staying out of the water. Lineups shimmered in the sunlight as a thick layer of smoke loomed above. The irony of Mother Nature's beauty and torment could be seen by the naked eye. Eventually the swell died as well as the fires leaving a lot of room for reconstruction. Ezera's best wishes go out to all the families affected by the fires and hope that everybody will be back in the water in no time. Team Regular Wins Etnies GvR of Surf The Etnies GvR made its formal debut this weekend at the Oceanside Pier in Oceanside. Fortunately, the event was graced with a solid swell and Santa Ana winds causing a high performance window of opportunity. The contest was set up in a format that allowed for two coaches, Chris Cote and Evan Slater, from competing surf magazines to pick a starting five lineup of surfers who would also join a group of qualifiers and eventually surf against the other team. Sunday morning kicked off the competition with peeling, overhead sets. Despite the stacked Goofy team, up-and-coming surfers on the Regular team such as Sebastien Zietz and Jay Thompson soared above and beyond the competition. In the end, the Regular team coached by Surfing Magazine's Evan Slater took the title with Sebastien Zietz taking the MVP award. Congratulations goes out to Ezera riders Sean Marceron and Kyle Knox who both surfed on the Regular team. Check out the footage below or on the video page. Pete Machotka Soars at NSSA High School Championships The NSSA High School championships were held last weekend in Ocean City, New Jersey. Ezera's own, Pete Machotka, made his way down to the event equipped with the EZ-2 contest machine. Small waves blessed the lineup as Pete began to slay the competion; posting some of the highest heat scores. Eventually, he hammered his way on down to the final. Pete put his EZ-2 to the challenge and came up tied for first in the end. Due to a countback, he came out with a second place finish. Pete's only remarks were that the EZ-2 had worked amazing in the small conditions. Congrats to Pete and also a little reminder that the EZ-2 can be located at select accounts on the East Coast including SurfShack. ![]() Pete Machotka boosting into the finals on his Snow White Edition of the EZ-2. Ezera Makes a Stand at the Oakley Newport Beach Pro The Oakley Newport Beach Pro was graced with favorable surf for the most part allowing for an insane event. The late September swell hit 56th street nicely and allowed for some good surfing by all the competitors. In the Oakley Pro Junior, Ezera rider Shane Murray was quick out of the gates taking out some strong competitors and made it all the way to the quarter finals riding his brand new EZ-3. Also a huge congrats goes out to Ezera affiliate Brent Reilly for making the semi finals of the pro junior. Meanwhile in the Pro division, Ezera riders Sean Marceron, Kyle Knox, and Andrew Doheny battled their way through some grueling heats. Both Sean and Andrew shredded their way all the way to the round of 32. Although they were ripping, both boys were edged out of the competition. Kyle saw his way through the round of 32 and tossed his pro model around quite a bit in the process. Kyle hit the quarter finals but just couldn't put it all together. It was a good showing for the team and for the new boards. Check out the all new EZ-3 hitting shops soon as well as the already existing line of shred sleds. Ezera Surfboards Hitting Across The Boarder The untapped market awaits in Mexico where surf culture thrives at spots like Puerto Escondido and Pascuales. Locals down there are pushing the limits just as surfers in California, Hawaii, the East Coast, and the rest of the world. Puerto Escondido stands as a proving ground gaining the name "The Mexican Pipeline." There is only a handful of local surfers who really charge beyond belief. One of these guys is Vans team manager of Mexico, Raul Noyola. Recently Raul has been laying down the hammer in the Latin American leg of the 'QS tour armed with an arsenal of EZ models. Equipped with the all new EZ-3 , he attacked the competition in Costa Rica and came out with a 4th place finish. More results are evident for the future and with Raul's Mexican influence, we can only hope for a Ezera boom. In addition, keep an eye out for the all new EZ-3 model hitting the shelves soon. ![]() Raul Noyola AKA "The Mexican Occy" putting the EZ-3 to the test in some hefty homebreak waves. *NEWS FLASH* Andrew Doheny is pulling triple duty in the new Mundo Rad! issue #61. The magazine contains an Ezera ad featuring Android gouging his way to a victory as well as a look at his board model. On top of that, he has an editorial photo doing what he does best. The new year is looking good for this growing grom who will most definately be dropping jaws and blowing minds. Monday, August 13, 2007
Summer Fun Summer is almost over as we see tourists packing up and heading home. Less and less people bombard the coastline as the season is coming to an end. For the Ezera team, and affiliates, the summer has been packed with local and foreign trips. Waves were and abundant as well as stories to tell about them. Recently, Kyle Knox went to Japan to surf the 6 star Yumeya Billabong Pro Tahara WQS. Kyle made it through some heats and set off his board model in Japan. Currently, Andrew Doheny is on a boat trip in Mainland Mexico with the Volcom crew. Dusty Payne, Dean Morrison, and Bruce Irons are all shredding down South and filming with Greg Browning. Meanwhile, the Hawaiian crew including Clay Marzo, Alex Smith, and Koa Smith have been seen ripping with their EZ squadron of boards. These up-and-coming surfers have been spreading their surfing from Cabo to Hawaii and Australia. Both Smith brothers are recently on a boat trip with other hot groms as we speak. Meanwhile, local Oceanside boys Sean Pearson and Garrett James have been pushing their EZ models to the limit at home and away. Garrett made his way to Baja Sur for some fun waves and even scored some sick ones at home. Sean definately made his way around the world as much as possible this summer. He made his way to Costa Rica, Baja Norte, Nicaragua, France, and Puerto Escondido soon. Sean scored Costa Rica overhead and surfed at Dino & Snips surf camp in Mexico. Once back from the camp, Sean made his way to Nicaragua to score good waves and to France to surf some fun ones. Quite possibly the most documented trip was Alex Ganguli's trip to Costa Rica. Check out the surfline story on it for pictures and more. http://www.surfline.com/travel/travel_bamp.cfm?id=10431 Be sure to keep your eye out for Kyle and Andrew's board models at select shops. Sean Marceron Wins US Open Trials Qualifying for the US Open in Huntington Beach is a task almost as big as winning the event itself. Everybody in the trials are frothing and wanting to make it to the main event. Surfers will do anything it takes to make it to the main event of the US Open. Sean Marceron, Star Ezera Rider, took this task head on in order to make it to the big time. Sean was one of these frothing beasts that would do anything to get their chance in the main event. Equipped with his EZ shred stick, Sean set out to make an impact. He made his first few heats and was surfing well. Eventually Sean found his way into the final of the trials. In the final, Sean blew up and found his way into some of the best waves of the heat. He won the trials of then event and once again has showed off his talent. Tuesday, July 17, 2007
!NEWS FLASH! Ezera is hitting the magazines this month with a few exposure shots of the boys. First off, Shane Murray has been doing his job by getting shots on his boards. Keep your eye out for the new Mundo Rad magazine in which Shane can be seen blowing the top off a wave on his Ezera shred stick. In addition, Kyle Knox has been putting his board model to the test and it can be seen in the new SurfShot magazine. The sequence shows Kyle taking his board to the edge and back. Besides the magazine publicity being achieved, Andrew Doheny's performance at NSSA Nationals has created some coverage of its own. Young standouts Alex and Koa Smith must have noted Andrew's skills and have recently picked up boards for their upcoming trip to Indo. Yound Guns' star Clay Marzo also has an EZ lineup on order. With the big names and some hype, Ezera is looking forward to the future and what comes of it. Monday, July 9, 2007
*NEWS ALERT* Andrew makes the quarter finals at ASP Pro Junior Nike 6.0 Pier Pressure. His quarter final was named the highest scoring heat in the whole event. Last Minute Attack by Android at Nationals NSSA Nationals is finally over after a grueling week of heats and beach activities. A steady flow of waist to chest high waves flourished throughout most of the event allowing for consistancy to determine the title winners. Ezera rider, Andrew Doheny, climbed his way through the ranks of this "top of the line" event. Pushing his pro jr. model further and further ahead, Andrew laid down some gnarly maneuvers and proved to be a threat to the national title. Finally on Saturday, it was time to go for broke as the finals began. First up for Andrew was the Explorer Boys final where he met standouts from the East Coast and Hawaii. He came up just a few points short of a title and received a bronze metal. Thus, fueling a fire that was sure to rage with fury in later finals. Evan Geiselman took first in the boys final followed by Keanu Asing in second. Later in the day, Andrew met Evan and Keanu again for the Open Juniors final. Six hungry surfers set out to make a stand and snag a national title. The final started off with a flurry of waves with back to back heat scores being posted. Keanu Asing took an early lead that lasted throughout most of the final. Andrew found his way through the pack with a couple of gouging turns on a lined up right. He sat in second place needing an above average score to take the lead. Within the last minute or so, Andrew paddled into a set left and greeted it with a backside flurry of snaps and hacks. Would it be enough to take over the lead? Nobody found out until the awards banquet on Sunday. Intensity rose until it was announced that Andrew beat Keanu by 0.5 and took the Juniors NSSA National Title. This accomplishment sent Andrew and his pro jr. model soaring as it is one of the greatest titles an amateur can win. Good Job Android from everybody at Ezera Surfboards. To check out some footage visit this. ![]() Andrew warming up months prior to his national title. Photo: Cozad Friday, July 6, 2007
The Perfect Summer Board: The Spoiler The Spoiler is hitting hard as the effects of Summer come back with a vengeance. Small, mushy waves grace the lineup as south swells loom on the horizon. It seems that most boards bog and slow down when the surf gets like this. Thats why the Spoiler is creating such a big hype. It will spoil other surfer's sessions as you accelerate through the flat sections of the wave. Look for the Spoiler at select surf shops and coming soon to Killer Dana. ![]() Sean Pearson boosting over a mushy section on his Spoiler.
JD McFaden Ambushes Costa Rica Loyal Ezera team rider, JD McFaden, recently returned from another trip to Costa Rica. JD has shown the local crowd in Oceanside that he knows what he is doing and is now proving the same to other countries. Equipped with a small quiver of boards, he set off for Costa Rica. Down there he pulled into some pretty heavy waves and slashed the lips off of many others. His EZ sleds seemed to work as he came back with pictures to prove it. Keep an eye out for this dark horse terrorizing a line up near you. ![]() JD pushing his EZ2 into a critical Playa Negra shack. Friday, June 29, 2007
Andrew Doheny Takes Over the Airwaves Anarchy and chaos apply to the lives of the top youth as they head into the week of NSSA Nationals. Between heats is a time where the surfers will free surf, eat, hang out with friends, or just relax. For Ezera rider, Andrew Doheny, it was exactly the same. Early on this morning, FOX6 News of San Diego made its way down to Lowers to broadcast their weather information live. Weather anchor Christina Russo and crew arrived to the nationals and eventually got to interviewing Andrew. For those who were able to see it, Andrew spoke confidently about the contest and his boards. The link to the interview will be posted once it is found. Thursday, June 21, 2007
Ezera Troops Set to Attack NSSA Nationals The Ezera team's younger generation has an incredible task at hand for the next week. This task is to surf at an above par level in order to take home a national title. NSSA Nationals will move from Salt Creek down to Lower Trestles beginning on June 26. This will be the proving ground for the top kids in the nation. It will be important for the surfers to be riding the best possible board for the event. Ezera riders and affiliates have an EZ quiver of boards that are sure to allow for an exquisite performance. Ezera riders capable of "stealing the bacon" are Andrew Doheny, Bryan Doheny, Eddie Elles, Johnny Elles and other affiliates such as Tyler Newton, Christian Saenz, Brent Reilly, and Nick Olsen. Find your way down to the event next week and check out the action because it is sure to be hot. ![]() Friend of Ezera, Brent Reilly, tuning up for nationals on his EZ-2. Thursday, June 14, 2007
Tyler Newton Pushes the EZ Squadron Hawaiian ripper, Tyler Newton, has been pushing his surfing throughout the years. His development was seen through many venues such as the NSSA Nationals at Lower Trestles. Every year in June young surfers from the West Coast, East Coast, and Hawaii make their annual voyage to San Clemente's Lower Trestles. The standouts are put in the spotlight and every year that Tyler Newton has competed, he has caught the eyes of the crowd. With a new set of elite EZ boards for this year, make note that Tyler will climb the ranks and make a statement. Recently, Tyler made a trek of his own down to Puerto Escondido in Mainland Mexico. Equipped with some smaller EZ models, he pushed the size of the boards to the limit. Charging overhead surf and pulling into gaping barrels, he truly showed that the boards could withstand some heavy surf. Checkout the EZ lineup in select stores and be sure to make your way down to the NSSA Nationals starting June 20 to watch Tyler Newton and other Ezera affiliates, and riders, battling for a national title. ![]() A confident Tyler Newton and his EZ1 find their way into Puerto gold. Android Invading Magazines Everywhere Ezera stand-out, Andrew Doheny, has been making his marks in the competetive surfing scene lately. With nationals coming up, he is planning to show up and blow up. In addition to the contests, Andrew has been on his fair share of photo trips as well. His trip to Puerto Rico amounted to a surplus of sick shots. The most recent Mundo Rad! used one of these photos and it can be seen on the cover of the Freedom edition #59. Andrew can be seen destroying the lip on the first prototype of his pro jr. model. The new edition of Surfshot Magazine debuted this new model of his and also pointed the spotlight on Andrew with a quick bio. The future holds an interview in the Transworld Magazine containing Andrew and Coco Ho on their recent trip to Fiji with Volcom. Keep your eyes peeled for these three magazines as well as the Andrew Doheny Pro Jr. Model hitting store shelves at select accounts. Andrew Doheny Test Driving his Pro Jr. Model in Puerto Rico. Ezera Groms Round Up For Rip Curl Grom Seach The second event of the Rip Curl Grom Search launched on Saturday, June 2nd at Pacific Beach Drive in San Diego. Groups of groms showed up to take their chance at a win in one of the four divisions. A southern swell hit a few days before the event and it was definately flexing its muscles for the kids. Ezera rider Eddie Elles and Ezera affiliate Andrew Nakamura found their groove throughout the day, both reaching the boys under 16 final. Eddie accelerated through the pack on his modified pro model and grabbed himself a fourth place finish. Meanwhile, Andrew tackled the final on his EZ2 and came up with a third place finish. In addition to these Ezera final finishes, Sean Pearson did some work of his own. He charged through the boys under 14 division on his Spoiler. The Spoiler held its own in the head-high conditions and allowed Sean to continue to blow up in the final. At the end of the day, Sean walked away with a third place finish leading to a job well down and well-rounded finish by Ezera. Be sure to check out these three boards at select shops in your location. Check out the results at Surfline. As the West Coast unfolds with its summer events, the more core division of surfers in the Tex-Mex area have been doing some competing of their own. Ezera rider Gabe Prusmack made it down to the Texas State Championships to steal a victory in the air division. In addition, his performance throughout the season left him with an overall victory in the air division as well as the open juniors division. If your in the area, check out the boards taking Gabe to the top at Underground Surf Depot in Galveston, Texas. As for the rest of the team, be on the look out for more final finishes in the near future.

The "Green Machine" Draws Final Blood Saturday, May 26, Ocean Beach Pier hosted Event #7 of the Monster Energy- Sun Diego Pro Surf Tour presented by Ezekiel. This would be the last event until the season finale and plenty of hopefuls were scratching for the title. Sean Marceron showed up in the morning equipped with his green EZ1 parabolic as he had been for the past couple of contests. Sean came into the event as the points leader and needed a quarterfinal finish, or better, to defend his title. Fortunately, the old-faithful "Green Machine" made its appearance and lived up to its expectations as always. Sean surfed his way and made the quaterfinals where his run would end. Sean ended the season on top for the second year in a row and has a championship to defend once again. In addition to Sean's insane finish, OB local Rodger Eales made a stand at his home break. He soared with his EZ1 and made it to the expression session final. Meanwhile on the East Coast, Ezera New Jersey time rider Pete Machotka has been doing his work in the contest scene. His travels to places like Hawaii have proven to fast forward his progression. Therefore at ESA Regionals, Pete grabbed himself a third in Jr. Mens and a fourth in Open Mens. Unfortunately, Pete's close family ties have him staying home from NSSA Nationals this year. We're sure that he will be making it out here next year for the nationals. If your in Jersey, check out the new Ezera board models landing soon at the Surf Shack.

The Attack of the Spoiler: Part Two Andrew Doheny and Johnny Elles combo NSSA Regionals The NSSA West Coast Regional Championships kicked off May 16-20 at the Huntington Beach Pier with some poor, and meager, waves containing minimal opportunity to capitalize. A secret stash of rushed boards made their way to the boys with perfect timing. Andrew Doheny grabbed his Spoiler and took to the horrible conditions. The board seemed to do its job as it rocketed Andrew through the nasty waves. Once the waves picked up, Andrew grabbed his old-faithful board that he used to win the VQS. Andrew won back-to-back finals in the Open Juniors division as well as the Explorer Boys division. Thus, perfecting the theory that the Spoiler is a great addition to the quiver. In addition to Andrew's victories, Johnny Elles took his piece of the Regionals pie. Although he had a brand new Andrew Doheny Pro Jr. Model, his superstitions led him to grab his old-faithful EZ1. This seemed to be the right choice as he battled his way to a second place finish in the Explorer Menehuene division. Look for these two, and the rest of the Ezera team, blowing up at NSSA Nationals from June 20-30. ![]() Superstitious Voodoo Child, Johnny Elles, and his EZ1 casting a spell on the competition. photo: Jack McDaniel mcdanielphoto.com Monday, May 14, 2007
Intergalactic Battle at the VQS Championships The 2007 VQS Championsips kicked off on Thursday May 10 with a hype. The hippy invasion was very noticeable as you walked down the beach in Newport. Although the surf was marginal, the vibe was "trippy." Volcom had its sideshows in full effect as they do every year. The event was spread four days long, and with an amazing cash prize of $100,000 it was guaranteed to be huge. Andrew Doheny took his futuristic maneuvers and bewildered the psychedelic crowd. Armed with the new "Droid" Jr. Pro Model, Andrew's space age barrage was a definite sight to see. Andrew used his innovative ways to win every heat leading to the final. In the final, the intergalactic battle began with four surfers from different parts of the world. Andrew took his board to the next level and blasted past the competition taking the win in the Love Children (14 & under) division final. Gabriel Medina (Bra) came in second, Ian Gouvei (Bra) took third, and Ezekiel Lau (Haw) snagged a fourth making it quite the international final. The feat for Andrew was a great accomplishment and also bagged him $8,000. Ezera affiliate, Brent Reilly, sneaked through his third round with a hall pass. This trippy call was made by the Volcom staff where they allowed the highest heat score of a third place competitor to advance to the next round. Brent used this opportunity to his advantage and took off for the final taking first place overall in the Trippers (15-17) division. Good job in the trippy atmosphere to Brent. Moreover, check out Andrew's Pro Junior Model (which he was riding the whole event) hitting the shelves in Huntington Surf & Sport.

Photo courtesy of Volcom.com Ezera Parabolic Stars Rise at Sun Diego Event #6 The horns sounded in the morning on May 12th starting the sixth event of the Monster Energy-Sun Diego Pro Surf Tour. The stage set at Scripps Pier in La Jolla with plenty of hopefuls ready to attack the extremely challenging conditions. Ezera stars Rodger Eales, Sean Marceron, and Kyle Knox jumped into the event head first. Rodger took out his parabolic and won his round one heat as well as his round one heat of the expression session. Unfortunately, the drawbacks of becoming a San Diego City lifeguard set in, leading him to jet off to work for the second event in a row. Meanwhile, Kyle Knox took advantage of his quiver and snagged his small wave Spoiler for the day long occasion. He blew up in the expression session final stealing himself a win. Right after the expression session was the final for the whole event. Kyle Knox met up with fellow Ezera rider Sean Marceron in the final. In the final, Sean silenced the critics with his old faithful, EZ1 parabolic performance as he won another event at Scripps Pier. Darrel Goodrum and Nate Yeomans took second and third. However, back to back finals proved to be exhausting for Kyle leading him to a noteworthy fourth place finish. Check out the Spoiler and one of our many parabolic models at an Ezera dealer near you. ![]() Kyle Knox boosting ahead of the pack. Photo: Ogden Wednesday, May 9, 2007
Andrew Doheny Lights Up NSSA Explorer Event #10 NSSA Explorer Event #10 was held on May 5-6 at the South Jetty of Oceanside Harbor. A clean swell aligned and supplied great waves for the kids in the contest. Andrew Doheny had a rough start as he could not figure out what board would be best for the conditions. With a little help from his pit crew, he got on the right board and took off. Andrew put his foot on the gas and gunned it through his Boy's and Junior's heats. In the Boy's final, Andrew received an interference but that didn't stop him. He pulled together a 10 and a 9 point ride equalling out to a 14.5 heat score with an interference. Thus, pulling away with the win and an error. Once again, in the Juniors division Andrew led the battle. Andrew took the initiative and snagged himself the checkered flag. All in all, Andrew snagged himself two victory laps and Explorer Boys Championship. Other Ezera riders in the finals included Ian Garcia, taking fourth in the Boys division, and Nick Olsen, taking fourth in the Juniors division. A strong showing for the Ezera boys shows us that there is a lot more where that came from. Sean Marceron's Parabolic Performance Stuns the Competition Event #5 of the Monster Energy-Sun Diego Pro Surf Tour presented by Ezekiel took place April 29 at San Fernando Place in Mission Beach. Tough waves made for an intereseting event. Sean Marceron, equipped with his EZ1 parabolic, cut through the surf taking first in every heat until the final. He looked unbeatable as he accelerated while everybody else looked as though they were stuck in kelp, causing his board to have competitors constantly eyeing it down during the event. Sean faced Dean Randazzo, Austin Ware, and Nathan Carroll in the final where the surf got incredibly inconsistant causing him to take a respectable third place. Are parabolics here to stay? In the end, Sean put the myth to rest by showing us what a great performance can be seen on them. Tuesday, May 1, 2007
Revenge of the Nerds Two of the most intelligent surfers from the Ezera compound, Garrett James and Scott "Squaw" Quarry, were proven spoilers at the double rated Monument/Sun Diego Grand finale event at San Fernando Place. On Saturday April 29, Both of these scholars surfed very respectfully against a field of extremely talented competitors battling for an overall championship title. With all the attention being directed towards the title chasers, Garrett in the Juniors and Scott in the Mens Division got pissed and lifted there game to prove it was more than a 3 horse title race. The final results will be announced at the Monument/ Sun Diego Banquet at the Oceanhouse in Carlsbad on May 10th. As far as the geek patrol, Mr. Quarry is undoubtedly the best ripping elementary school teacher on the planet. While Garrett just turned down an academic scholarship from UNLV to attend Cal State San Marcos, a school much closer to the coast and even more important, NOW has a promising surf team. Ezera Lab Rats Strike Again The 2007 ISF Middle School State Championships took place last weekend April 21-22 at the South Jetty of the Oceanside Harbor. This contest showcased the top youngsters from middle schools up and down the coast. Peaky conditions were perfect for the kids as they used this for their chance to blow up. Ezera super grom Johnny Elles threw his EZ1 around and jumped into the final. Johnny has been riding for Ezera for a couple of years now and seems to know his boards from rail to rail. In the final he put it out there and snagged himself a third place finish. Keep your eyes on Johnny for years to come. There is alot more to expect from him. Also, check out the Ezera board lineup at Huntington Surf & Sport where the EZ1 is just one of the many models for sale. In addition, Ezera has used boards among more used boards that need a person to guide. Keep your eyes peeled for the used board section and get ahold of us with any questions or interests.

Out of Town Attacks On the other coast, Ezera had an honorable showing by Shane Murray and Dewey Cunnison at the ...Lost Easter Pro Jr. Shane payed Dewey back from the year before and knocked him out in the round of 32. Don's worry about Dewey because he is currently in 26th place on the Pro Jr. circuit.Shane battled his way through the rounds at Cocoa Beach, Florida on his EZ1. A quarter final appearance earned him a spot in the Oakley Pro Jr. at Trestles on April 24-28 where he will be competing along with fellow Ezera team rider, Andrew Doheny. Final props and huge congrats go to friend of Ezera, Tyler Newton, for becoming the Rip Curl International Grom Search champion down under at Bells Beach this last weekend. So chalk one up for the Kauai kid and keep an eye out for him. In addition, be sure to make your way down to Trestles for the Body Glove Surfbout headlining Ezera elite Kyle Knox and Sean Marceron. Ezera Aerial Assault Squad Lands on the Podium There has been a flurry of events up and down the California coast. Weekends are filled back to back with contests. Recently the 8th Annual Newport Classic went down. Pat Towersey, Ezera affiliate, boosted his way into the final on his parabolic EZ-2. Old faithful wouldn'd let him down and especially not in the final. Pat had his way with the competition and came out on top. Second place went to Josh Hoyer, third to Will Anderson, and fourth to Surfside Sports' favorite son Nick Skawincki. Just a week later and just about an hour down the coast, Ezera's bomb squad attacked again at the Koastal Kaos at D Street, Encinitas. Ezera allegiant Derek Bockleman took to the air during the air show and easily made the main event. Derek made it look easy as he blasted out of the peaky sections. In the end, Derek took 1st place and a cool, crisp $1200. Meanwhile, in the boys final, Ian Garcia struck the final straight out of recovering from a horrific injury. His run-in with Oceanside's South Jetty left his tibia and fibula in pieces. Ian snagged the fourth place spot and a new confidence for the next event. Be sure to check out the Ezera boys at the next Koastal Kaos. May 5-6, 2007 Pacific Beach Drive Invitational. Pat Towersey mowing down the competition from above on his EZ-2 EPS Parabolic. Alex Ganguli: Master Juggler Alex has always been a very progressive surfer through the years. His to-do list is never empty yet he still makes time to get down to the beach and surf. Surfing, going to school, throwing dough at the Carlsbad Pizza Port, and even starting his own power washing company just begin to show this kid's talent. Besides all of this, he had the time to go to Costa Rica and shoot some amazing photos. Alex came into Ezera a mere couple days before his trip and borrowed one of the used boards on the rack. He got very accustomed to the board and brought back the goods securing his spot on the elite Ezera team. Not only does he just travel, but he is constantly on the podium in every event he enters. As in Koastal Kaos event #5 at La Jolla Shores where he swept the competition and took the win in the mens division. Although he is balancing many things, he is very productive and driven in every field which makes him such a great addition to the team. Check out the new 007 Ezera lineup in both SurfRide locations. Ezera All-Stars, Kyle Knox and Andrew Doheny, Climb the Ranks at the Huntington Beach Pier The Vans "Off the Wall" Pier Classic WQS was bombarded with surfers from all over. The best from the East coast made their voyage across country to try and steal the gold from the West coast boys. Kyle Knox, Sean Marceron, and Rodger Eales traveled up the I-5 to get their chance at gold. A controversial call was made on Rodger's last wave leading to his early loss. On the other hand, Kyle charged through the ranks. He battled his way to the semi-finals but the nod was given to the Huntington Beach locals. Meanwhile in the Ezekiel Pro Jr, Andrew Doheny led his own charge. Throwing his parabolic tail every chance he received, Andrew seemed like he was going to make it to the final. Suspect judging led to an early outing during the quarter-finals and also had the onlookers scratching their heads in confusion. At only fourteen, Andrew was the youngest to make it this far and with six years left in the Pro Juniors you can bet that he will be at the top of the podium soon. Check out Kyle and Andrew's highlights below. Wednesday, March 21, 2007
Ezera Media Blitz Friends of Ezera, Pat Towersey and Brent Reilly, have been attacking the media as of lately. Pat Towersey has been commentating the web casts for the Billabong Pro Juniors. One weekend he is in Florida and the next in Hawaii, still having enough time to boost at 56th Street on his EZ-1 parabolic. Meanwhile on the grom front, Brent Reilly out of Carlsbad, has been a featured surfer on Fuel TV's New Pollution. The show features up and coming athletes ages 16 and under. They receive a 15 minute part that captivates their skill and lifestyle. The show is currently airing on Fuel TV about five times a day. Tune in and check out Brent Reilly shredding on his EZ-2 and look for him at the Ezekial Junior Pro this weekend in Huntington. The Ezera team has been on a roll for the past month showing up at the right places at the right time. Be sure to check out the new lineup of Ezera Surfboards double 'O' seven at both Surf Ride, Solana Beach and Oceanside, locations. ![]() Brent Reilly dropping bombs on his EZ-2. Schools in Session Wednesday, March 14, 2007. Lowers opened up with a flurry of overhead waves. The early time change may have caused a change in the swell forecast which led to a solid south swell to start off the season. The Ezera boys hit the water at the crack of dawn. School was definately in session with teacher, Kyle Knox, showing the younger Ezera riders how to do it. He led the charge and demolished the sets with gaping turns off the top. Kyle's board was on edge all morning as he weaved his way in and out of paddling onlookers. New team rider, Andrew Doheny hit the water as well and blasted his fins out every wave. His new boards look like they are working great and he looked like he picked up a few carves from Kyle. Eddie Ellis followed through with multiple backhand hacks on the rights and put his parabolic to the test. Ezera groms Sean Pearson, Ian Garcia, and Marshall Garcia also made an appearance and learned some pointers from the older Ezera riders. Check out the video at the bottom of the page. And also be sure to click the link to check out surfline for the photos from this session.

Android Invades Newport With a New Artillary of Boards After recently tearing apart the competition at 54th street during the NSSA event, Andrew "Droid" Doheny has been signed to a multi-year contract with Ezera Surfboards. His amazing development is coming along as he still remains only a mere 14 years old. In addition, Andrew has a great ability to surf and explain what he feels when he is surfing. This being said, he will be working with Dave to develop an all new grom model appropriately named the Droid. Just as in Kyle Knox's case, we plan on continuing to work with Andrew through his adulthood. Be on the look out for him and fellow team rider/brother Brian attacking the waves in Newport. Andrew will also be killing it at the Ezekiel Pro Jr. as well as trying to steal the glory at the Vans "Off the Wall" Pier Classic WQS. March 21st-25th Huntington Beach Pier. Andrew enjoying tropical weather in Puerto Rico on his Ezera modified Pro Model.
Kyle Knox back on the Program After a brief vacation, Ezera is proud to announce that Kyle Knox is back. Kyle has been around since puberty and has witnessed all the trials, and tribulations, and sees the potential that Ezera has for the future. He is now back in the shaping room with Dave Pearson developing his new signature model. Kyle will also lead the younger team riders by example as they progress their surfing to new levels. We are amped to get him back on the team and sure that his ability and determination will shine in the promotion of his new model. Look for Kyle's model breaking into Sun Diego in early April. Ezera Lab Rats, Christian Saenz and Andrew Doheny, Dominate NSSA Open Event#8 Event #8 was held in small 1-3 foot waves at 54th Street in Newport. Quick sections made it contestable especially for local ripper Andrew Doheny. He surfed in a very professional manner, winning nine heats within the course of the event. The 14 year old threw his boards around to slam both the Mens and Juniors finals. Equipped with one of Ezera's modified Pro Models, Andrew swiped the win in Juniors. In the men's final he schooled the older competition and snagged the win for a back to back victory. Andrew's time spent in the shaping room with Dave has paid off greatly. Also making the Juniors final was Ezera team rider Christian Saenz. Straight from Huntington Beach, Christian traveled a couple miles to take third. Look for the new Pro Model and EZ-2 Parabolic boards flying into Huntington Surf and Sport locations within the next couple weeks. Christian Saenz analyzing the all new EZ-2 EPS Parabolic.
Ezera Groms Make a Stand at Koastal Kaos Event #6 The prevailing waves couldn't stop the Ezera boys from making finals. Although the surf was inconsistent and lacked enough power to barely push these guys, we made a stand. In the boys division, Ezera's very own Sean Pearson used his local knowledge and to snag a third place finish. Next up was the Junior's final where JD McFaden edged out the competition to make away with a fourth place. During the Mens final, rising star Alex Ganguli threw up some fin-free turns to come away with a third. Come check the boys out at the next Koastal Kaos event. Rodger Eales Signed and Ready to Blow Up New addition to the team, Rodger Eales, reigns from Ocean Beach but is prevalent throughout San Diego. Not only did he win the PB Summer Surf Off but also claimed a victory at the Surf for the Sea in Oceanside. Becoming the NSSA National College Champion has also been an outstanding feat for Rodger. As well as riding for Ezera, he also has been riding for Volcom for years on end. From airs to carves, his bag of maneuvers is completely wide open. We are stoked to have Rodger on the EZ-1 and doing his thing down south. Keep an eye out for him at the Sun Diego/ Monster Energy Pro Contests where he placed third at the debute event in Ocean Beach.

Sean Marceron wins Event #3 of Sun Diego/Monster Energy Pro Surf Tour 2/24/2007-Throughout the day Sean Marceron pulled away from the pack with his consistent surfing which led him to the final. The star studded final featured Nate Yeomans(California Trifecta Series Champ), "Malibu's Most Wanted" Anthony Petruso, and part-time Hollywood stuntman Sean Taylor. Marceron, armed with his new EZ-2 EPS as well as a barrage of mean frontside and backside hacks, took the initiative and drove the win home. Look out for Sean Marceron at Event #4. April 14-15 at Pacific Drive in Pacific Beach. In addition, keep an eye out for the all new EZ-2 landing in select surf shops early spring 2007.
